Specimen of optical glas, 1824-1830.

Description

The specimen contains borosilicate of lead for high refractive index and was prepared by the English physicist Michael Faraday (1791-1867). Faraday was the most eminent scientist of his day, and pursued research in a wide variety of different materials as well as his well-known work on electricity.
