Tortoiseshell, 20th century, and snuff box, early 19th century.

Description

The complete tortoiseshell is pierced at rear of the upper shell for hanging as an ornament. It is probably from a hawksbill turtle. The rectangular horn snuff box has a hinged lid inlaid with tortoiseshell over ivory.
