A selection of objects, mostly made from tortoiseshell, horn and ivory, all of which are natural plastics. They include a complete tortoiseshell, a spoon made from horn, a box inlaid with tortoiseshell and ivory, and a hair grip made from imitation tortoiseshell celluloid. Many of these are from a collection of over three hundred objects collected by Roger Newport of Bromsgrove in Worcestershire and pased on to the Science Museum in 1979.
