Description

Cast book-ends of transparent amber cast phenolic, surmounted by bears of orange urea formaldehyde. By 1928, phenolic resins could be produced at lower temperatures producing a material which was brittle but could be moulded without fillers. This meant that items made from phenolic resins no longer had to be dark but could be transparent.
