Description
This mould was made by Charles MacIntosh and Co for the Great Exhibition of 1851 in London. At the Exhibition, twelve exhibitors showed India rubber, with MacIntosh, the inventor of the rainproof coat which bears his name, amongst them. A rubber mat produced using this mould was itself displayed at the Great Exhibition.
