This is a replica made by Lotus Engineering of the bicycle on which the British racer Chris Boardman won the Gold Medal in the 4km pursuit event at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. The bicycle was constructed largely from carbon fibre and weighed les than 9kg. It was designed by Mike Burrows for Lotus Engineering, and was extensively wind-tested to be as aerodynamic as posible, both from the perspective of the bicycle itself and the rider's body position.
