Morse tapes sent to the 'Great Eastern', 1866.

Description
These morse tapes were sent to the British warship 's Great Eastern' while it was laying the Atlantic telegraph cable in 1866. Designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel (1806-1859), this steam-powered iron ship was six times larger than any existing ship of the time. The ship was used in the third succesful attempt to lay a submarine telegraph cable linking America with the United Kingdom.
