Description

The first women railway guards have commenced duty at Victoria Station, London. Since graduating from their special 'school' they have worked for a time on trains with a regular guard, and have proved themselves capable of taking charge in full. This is the first time the idea of women train guards has been adopted on the large main-line railway stations.
