© NRM / Pictorial Collection / Science & Society Picture Library
Poster produced by London, Midland & Scottish Railway (LMS) to promote rail travel to Ingleton, on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, 'the Land of Waterfalls', where there were some recently discovered caverns. The poster shows a view of a large waterfall, Thornton Force, with Ingleborough in the background. Some people can be seen on the rocks near where the water is falling, while a man can be seen helping a woman onto a rock in the calm waters of the foreground. Artwork by F Whatley.
