To demonstrate the feasibility of flying trains Dale Drake, of California, rode his 200-lb. glider on a tow line behind a plane piloted by Lloyd O'Donnell on an air journey of 200 miles that was ended at Long Beach, California. The fliers were compelled to land once when the tow line broke after they had completed about 170 miles.
