Telegraph Les, Telephone Les says the Post Office - Travel Les say the Railways' poster, WWII. Poster produced by the railway companies to advocate cutting back on train travel for the good of the war effort. Artwork by Austin Cooper (1890-1964). The artist was born in Manitoba, Canada, and studied art in Cardiff, Wales. Cooper commenced his career as a commercial artist in Montreal, but returned to London in 1922 to design posters for the LNER, Indian State Railways and London Transport. Printed by Whitwell Pres Ltd.
