Poster produced for the London & North Eastern Railway (LNER) to promote rail travel to the East Coast of England. The poster shows a clothed lobster looking through a telescope, watched by two small birds wearing sailor hats and carrying a bucket and spade. One of a set of six humourous posters exhibited in the 1933 LNER Poster Art Exhibition at the New Burlington Galleries in London. Artwork by Frank Newbould (1887-1951), who studied at Bradford College of Art and joined the War Office in 1942. He designed posters for LNER, Great Western Railway (GWR), Orient Line and Belgian Railways.
