'British Empire Exhibition', LNER poster, 1925.

Poster produced for the London & North Eastern Railway (LNER) to promote the second season of the British Empire Exhibition in Wembley, London, which was opened by King George V in May 1925. The poster shows visitors to the exhibition listening to an outdoor concert, where musicians are seen playing in a bandstand. The border around the image shows two soldiers and a number of exhibition pavilions representing the colonies of the British Empire. Artwork by Charles 'Shep' Shepherd, who studied art under Paul Woodroffe and was head of the studio at the Baynard Pres. He designed posters for the Royal Mail Packet Steam Company and London Transport as well as SR.
