Poster produced for the London & North Eastern Railway (LNER) to promote rail and sea services to the 1928 Olympic Games, held in Amsterdam in July and August. The poster shows the Olympic flame burning at the top of a column. The 1928 Olympic Games were the first to feature women's athletics events in the programme, and also introduced the tradition of carrying the Olympic flame from Athens to the games.
