Poster produced by London, Midland & Scottish Railway (LMS) to promote rail travel to Stirling in Scotland. The poster shows a procesion of the Scottish garrison outside of Stirling Castle. The part of the castle shown on the right is the Great Hall, where Parliament and state ceremonies are held, while the rooms behind the barred windows are the Queen's Bedchamber and the King's Presence Chamber. Artwork by Christopher Clark (1875-1942), who was a military and historical painter and illustrator. Many of his designs for posters for LMS and London & North Eastern Railway (LNER) were re-isued by British Railways.
