Description

Poster produced for the Great Western Railway (GWR) and the London Midland & Scottish Railway (LMS) promoting rail travel to the city of Bristol, showing a view of the church of St John on the Wall. St John's was built on a section of the town walls in the 1300s, and its simple perpendicular tower is the only remaining mediaeval spire in Bristol. Artwork by Claude Buckle (b 1905). Printed by the Dangerfield Printing Company Ltd, London. Dimensions: 1016mm x 635mm.
