Description

Poster produced for British Railways (BR) to promote rail travel to Carlisle, Cumbria. The poster shows a schematic illustration of medieval Carlisle which includes Carlisle Castle, Carlisle Cathedral and The Citadel, the two enormous towers which stand at the southern entrance to the city. The arms of the City of Durham, with the city's motto 'Be Just and Fear Not', are displayed to the side. Artwork by Kerry Lee.
