Poster produced for British Railways (BR) to promote an open day at Brighton Station on 16 July 1983, commemorating 50 years of electrification on the London to Brighton Line (1933-1983). In the 1930s, the Southern Railway Company electrified most of its outer suburban railways and several main lines to and along the South Coast. The first main line electrification occurred on the London to Brighton line in 1933, and encouraged many similar schemes. Artwork by an unknown artist.
