Poster produced for British Railways (BR), Western Region (WR) to promote rail travel to the ruins of Tintern Abbey, Monmouthshire, Wales. The poster shows a view of the abbey and surrounding countryside. The Abbey of Tintern was the first Cistercian foundation in Wales and only the second in Britain, being founded in 1131 by Walter de Clare, Lord of Chepstow. Artwork by Leonard Richmond (d 1965).
