Description

Queen Mary departing, Waterloo Station, London, Queen Mary departs the newly-rebuilt Waterloo Station having completed the opening ceremony. A guard of honour of 100 London & South Western Railway staff wearing the campaign medals they won in the recent WWI form two long lines and raise their hats to bid her farewell. Policemen and senior officals stand at the top of the stairs under the Victory Arch and war memorial. Behind them, inside the station, a barrier has been placed to keep back a crowd of railway staff who had gathered to see the Queen.
