Description

A photograph of girls on a Outward Bound course carrying a canoe to launch it on Buttermere in the Lake District. The 1954 course, run by the Outward Bound Centre in Eskdale, Cumbria, was only the second such course run for girls. This photograph has been selected from the Daily Herald Archive, a collection of over three million photographs. The archive holds work of international, national and local importance by both staff and agency photographers.
