Description

Built for exploiting the vast forests north of Harbin, the Suiling Railway opened in 1950. It closed in 2006 when the forests through which it ran were exhausted of commercially usable timber. Just after dawn, a train specially chartered for photographers, emerges from the remaining woods. (Oct 2005)
