"London, Midland & Scottish Railway poster advertising tickets which were valid for 2 months throughout the summer and allowed people to visit the countryside or the seaside for day trips. Competition between the railway companies was very high and rail services and holidays were advertised at most stations. At this time the railway companies were starting to get increased competition from road transport."
