"A class P1 4-6-4 locomotive number 11118 in Horwich works erecting shop. This shop was where the locomotives were put together. It was equipped with 20 cranes, tools for repairs and drilling machines. Horwich works opened in 1886 as the locomotive works for the Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway. This Railway Works mainly built and repaired locomotives, but they also made telegraph and signalling equipment. "
