"Poster advertising cheap railway tickets on London, Midland & Scottish Railway routes. At this time the LMS had just been formed. Before 1923 there had been a large number of railway companies, but in 1923, all the railway companies amalgamated to form four larger companies, known as the 'Grouping'. However, although the railway companies ran more efficiently with greater profits, competition between the companies was very high and rail services and holidays were advertised at most stations."
