At this time all tickets had to be checked on the platform before the passengers were allowed to board the train. Those people wishing to meet passengers on the platform had to buy a platform ticket. Large luggage items and pets had to have their own tickets. A platform ticket machine and a Nestle's chocolate machine can be seen by the gates.
