"Crane in a warehouse at the London, Midland & Scottish Railway's Oldham Road goods depot. This crane was used for moving freight in warehouses. The crane moved along the tracks suspended from the roof to get into the right position to move the goods. They were used to move goods from one side of the warehouse to the other quickly and easily, therefore avoiding large items that were on the warehouse floor. "
