"A man leaning against wet paint. Hand-coloured magic lantern slide, 19th century. This slipping slide consists of one glass slide which is moved across another, fixed slide, each of which is painted with one phase of a simple movement. Black patches on the slipping slide alternately cover and uncover the two phases of movement, in this case the man moves away from the railings with paint on his back. A pair with CIN/C000063."
