Poster advertising holidays to Nairn on the edge of the Scottish Highlands, about 1928. The Highlands were a popular destination for a holiday at this time. More people were able to take holidays by the 1920s because they were entitled to paid holidays from work, and the railways made holiday destinations such as Scotland more accessible. Those people living in the south of Britain could take overnight trains to the Scottish Highlands.
