Description

Salt print from calotype negative. Photograph by David Octavius Hill and Robert Adamson who were noted portrait photographers during their partnership from 1843 to 1848. Although most of their portraits are of Scotland's elite, they also photographed many views of Edinburgh, including small fishing villages such as Newhaven.
