Freight train, hauled by a 4-6-0 locomotive number 54767 'Clan MacKinnon' at Kyle of Lochalsh, Scottish Highlands. Photograph by Cyril Herbert. Fish was transported in special ventilated or sealed, refrigerated containers to keep the fish fresh and cool. Fish from ports such as Lowestoft, Grimsby and Fleetwood, was transported all over Britain.
