Doctor Who cast members Jon Pertwee, Katy Manning and Nicholas Courtney in character at the opening of the BBC TV Visual Effects exhibition at the Science Museum, London. Jon Pertwee was Doctor Who from 1970 to 1974; Katy Manning took the role of the Doctor's assistant Jo Grant from 1971 to 1973; whereas Nicholas Courtney played the role of Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart, a regular character in the series between 1968 and 1989. The original series of the popular science fiction series 'Doctor Who' ran from 1963 to 1989. Jon Pertwee was the first Doctor to be filmed in colour.
