Shaped like a spaceman's helmet, the futuristic JVC (3241UK) Videosphere was first introduced in 1970, and was sold until the early-1980s. Several other space-age TVs were made during the 1970s, including one that resembles a flying saucer. It was popular for its modern design, and the fact that it also included an alarm clock at the base on certain models. The Videosphere could either sit in its curved base, or hang from the ceiling on a chain.
