The reserve of a jar of Farbenfabriken vormals Friedrich Bayer of Elberfeld, Germany. Farbenfabrikation vormals Friedrich Bayer, Elberfeld, was founded by Friedrich Bayer in 1863, became a limited company in 1881, part of I.G. Farbenindustrie AG in 1925, and refounded as Farbenfabriken Bayer AG in 1951. Part of a collection of late nineteenth and early twentieth century colorants transferred from the Colour Museum, Bradford, in 1985.
