A jar of Brilliant Acid Carmine B synthetic dye manufactured by K. oehler, Offenbach-bei-Main, Germany. oehler, which had started with picric acid in 1856, was taken over by the Griesheim-Elektron company in 1905 and hence became part of I.G. Farbenindustrie in 1925. Part of a collection of late nineteenth and early twentieth century colorants transferred from the Colour Museum, Bradford, in 1985.
