Albumen silver print by Henry Peach Robinson (1830-1901), showing a young girl on her deathbed surrounded by her family. Robinson is noted for his combination prints, created by piecing together various images, blending the seams and rephotographing the assemblage. His subjects were anecdotal and often pastoral, though he created such scenes with use of backdrops, props and costumes in his studio. He has frequently been recognised as the founder of the English Pictorialist school. Dimensions 28.8 x 52.1cm
