Description

Stockport railway viaduct as seen from the bus station, by Chris Hogg, 1998. The viaduct, which crosses the River Mersey, is the largest brick viaduct in Europe. It was built in 1842 and was widened at the end of the 19th century by the London & North Western Railway.
