'Versuche Uber Photographie' by Dr Josef M Eder and E Valenta was published in Vienna in 1896. It contained images produced with X-ray or 'new' photography, which caused a sensation when it was discovered by German scientist Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen (1845-1923) in 1895. The X-rays were also called radiographs or cathode rays.
