Description

Large glass bottle containing glass amulets and religious symbols suspended from bulbs in holy water. Amulets have been used since ancient times to ward off evil spirits and protect their owners against disease. This bottle comes from the collections of the French anthropologist, Louis Laurent Gabriel de Mortillet (1821-1898).
