Illustration drawn and aquatinted by Thomas Malton. Perspective view of a design by Scottish civil engineer Thomas Telford (1757-1834), for a cast iron bridge, consisting of a single arch 600 feet in the span and 'calculated to supply the place of the present London Bridge'. Dedicated to King George III by Thomas Telford. Published by R Ackerman, Strand, London, and Mr Taylor, Architectural Library, Holborn et al. Telford's design wasn't chosen to replace the old London Bridge.
