London, Midland & Scottish Railway poster advertising trips to holiday destinations over the Christmas period. At this time the LMS had just been formed. Before 1923 there had been a large number of railway companies, but in 1923, all the railway companies amalgamated to form four larger companies, known as the 'Grouping'. Competition between the companies was very high and special offers and holidays were advertised at most stations.
