A reproduction of a colour photograph of a Yeoman Of The Guard, or 'Beefeater' at the Tower of London, taken by an unknown photographer and published in a book entitled 'London In Colour Photography', produced by The Photochrom Company, Limited, London in about 1914. The Yeomen of the Guard were the bodyguards of the English monarch. They were founded in 1485 by Henry VII (1457-1509). The Photochrom process was a form of photolithographic colour printing developed around 1900. The process was used widely to produce scenic and tourist views and for reproductions in art books.
