Medal for the Nobel Prize for Physics, awarded to British physicist Joseph John Thomson (1856-1940) in 1906. The design shows the muses of nature and science and a plaque to J J Thomson. The prize was awarded by the Nobel Institute, Stockholm, Sweden, 'in recognition of the great merits of his theoretical and experimental investigations on the conduction of electricity by gases'. Made in Sweden by Erik Lindberg.
