Stanley Baldwin (1867-1947) & his wife Lucy Baldwin standing outside No 11 Downing Street. The Conservative politician held the post of Prime Minister during several historical upheavals such as the General Strike (1929) and the abdication of Edward VIII (1937). He was made an Earl in 1937 after his resignation from office.
