A photograph of the kitchen in Crouch House, a show-home at the Ideal Home Exhibition, taken by Tony Eyles for the Daily Herald newspaper in 1965. This photograph shows a fully-equipped, stylish fitted kitchen which was all the rage at this time. Crouch House was one of the many ideal homes that would have been on display for the crowds at the Exhibition. The Ideal Home Exhibition first opened at Olympia, London, in 1908. It showcased the latest houses and products to transform people's lifestyles. It was immensely popular and became an annual event which still takes place today. This photograph has been selected from the Daily Herald Archive, a collection of over three million photographs. The archive holds work of international, national and local importance by both staff and agency photographers.
