Lithograph by Maclure, Macdonald and Macgregor, of Patent No 1575 (1860), a Steam Road Locomotive Engine known as the Steam Elephant, produced by James Taylor & Company at the Britannia Works, Cleveland Street, Birkenhead. A Steam Elephant was shown at the 1862 International Exhibition. It is shown here pulling two flat trailers laden with timber.
