A knife, fork and steel with decorative horn handles in a leather sheath. Cutlery-making in the 18th century was a distinct trade controlled by the cutlers' guild. Cutlers made all sorts of sharp-edged tools in addition to knives, including spades, razors and blood-letting lancets for surgeons.
