Artificial pylon type left leg from the Provisional Limbs Depot, Salford, Greater Manchester. Issued to wounded servicemen, the leg is made of fibre and was intended as a temporary limb to enable the wearer to get used to an artificial leg while waiting for the fitting of a more permanent prosthesis.
