The design for the jumper was created by 12 year old Holly Wharton in response to a competition held by the Cystic Fibrosis Trust in conjunction with the Science Museum. The jumper was presented to the Science Museum to form part of their permanent collection. Dolly the sheep was genetically engineered by Steve Melia and Barry Greenwood at the Roslin Institute in Edinburgh in 1997.
