Martensitic white iron - Nihard. Typical analysis 3% carbon - 1% silicon - 3.8% nickel - 2% chromium. Micrograph main constituents are austenite (grey) containing coarse needles of martensite (dark) together with carbides (white) in degenerate eutectic association with smaller regions of austenite and martensite.
